ABOUT JEEVANIDHI TRUST

JEEVANIDHI TRUST is a registered Charitable Trust, registered in Bangalore in 2007. JEEVANIDHI TRUST is a Not for Profit, Non- Governmental Organisation. JEEVANIDHI TRUST is operating in Mangalore since 2011.

Our Vision is to create spaces to empower and to transform the lives of the less privileged, excluded, discriminated, stigmatised communities based on caste, gender and racial differences.

JEEVANIDHI TRUST is managed by 6 Trustees, experts in the field of their respective field.

Dr. Gerry Pais, is a pioneer in the field of community medicine. He is the founder of DEEDs Hunsur, Ex-Director of OXFAM, Bangalore and he was the Consultant to WHO Cambodia. He was the first Medical Superintendent of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Mysuru. He continues to be a prestigious board member iny many of the NGO's based in Karnataka.

Ms. Hyacinth Pinto, secretary of JEEVANIDHI TRUST, is a postgraduate in Sociology and holds Diploma in Counselling and Community Development. She is a Certified Addiction Professional. She has worked with grassroots population through designing and implementing need-based, community-specific and time-relevant projects for DHARMA JYOTHI SOCIETY, SRUJANA Mangaluru, SAKTI Bangaluru and LINK Mangaluru.

Dr. Sujatha Rita, holds a Doctorate in Psychiatric Social Work. She is a Development Consultant working with women, youth and children.

Mr. Rupert Rosario, an Advocate by profession and a social thinker by training. He has enriched several social organisations through his expert consultations. He has been a legal advisor to JEEVANIDHI TRUST since its inception.

Dr. Gopal Dabade, a medical Doctor by profession, is the founder of Drug Action Forum. He is also a founding member of JAGRUTHI and a board member and consultant to many NGO’s.  

Mr. Renni Dsouza, Director of PADI (Child Rights Organisation) since the last 25+ years. He has pioneered innovative strategies to make child rights a reality in the Government of Karnataka and the Women and Child Department.

  • Professional Training Programme: A 3-day non-residential programme was organized and facilitated for Social Workers, MSW/MSC students and Counsellors in 2013.  There were 23 enthusiastic participants who reviewed their caring profession, learnt counselling skills and the best way they can serve the community.
  • Volunteers’ Training: Over 42 persons participated in training programmes and are rendering voluntary service to the society in various capacities.
  • Training Women Volunteers at the Community Level at Belgaum District, Karnataka: 9 Awareness Programmes in Belgaum District was organized during 2013.  A total of 384 participants attended the programme and discussed the issue of dealing with alcoholism in the family and the community.
  • The Trust provided support in field investigation to Mr. T. S. Thomas in his Ph. D research work on “Poverty and Alcoholism”.  The book was printed and published by JEEVANIDHI TRUST in 2015

Our current goal

  • To establish and oversee a rehabilitation care centre focused on geriatric and palliative needs.
  • Developing a learning environment for underprivileged children from neighbouring villages, allowing them the freedom to express themselves, grow, and learn math and languages.
